Budapest was truly a magical city. The architecture, the people, and the vibe were just perfect. I stayed close to the Danube, so I was able to walk along it many times. Looking at all the buildings and bridges lit up was so amazing. Budapest will have a special place in my heart for a very long time.
My favorite places:
- Anywhere along the Danube at night
- Hungarian National Gallery (you have to go here, the view is spectacular)
- Buda Castle (it’s a bit of a hike to get up here, but it is really beautiful)
- Ruin Bars (these are very, very fun) (it’s also why I got a picture along the Danube at sunrise)
Overall, I felt very safe while I was there. There were several times I was walking at night, but did not feel I was in any danger. If anything, people came up to me to ask if I needed any help. It was fairly clean and the airbnb that I stayed in was right among the locals. Also, for any gluten-free people out there, I was able to find many restaurants that actually marked this on the menu.
